Acknowledging and Working Through Emotions when Buying a Home

Buying a home for most takes months or even years of planning to be ready to embark on this monumental endeavor. In a fast-moving market where buyers have little time to decide which home is right for them, it’s important to recognize upfront the emotions that may hinder one's ability to reach their goal.

Frustration, nervousness, disappointment, fear and stress are common. Am I buying at the top of the market? Will I face multiple offers from buyers who have more money or can offer better terms? If I don’t get this offer accepted, will I ever find another home? Which desired features do I need to sacrifice to find a home within my budget or preferred neighborhood?

With current market conditions, these questions are not only common, but they are also real. Buying a home becomes a process of elimination versus a process of choice. We’ve helped hundreds of buyers navigate these concerns and more, by focusing on each client’s “Why.” By continuously circling back to what was the driving factor behind the decision to buy a home, we help our clients remain focused on the big picture to either successfully purchase a home, or to help them create a plan to reach the goal in the future.

Acknowledging these emotions when they arise and devising strategies to overcome them to reach the primary objective takes skill. We take a solutions-oriented approach to running our real estate business with the primary objective of helping each client come to a decision that is right for them.
